Taxi Driver Online

Got a job from one of those retail parks yesterday. Posh bloke stood next to fancy Range Rover with a huge telly. 'All I need', he says, 'is for you to help me lift this into the car then follow me a couple of miles home and give us a hand carrying it into the house'. Halfway through my rant about being a taxi driver not a f*ing removal man he interrupts and says 'I'll give you £30'. 15 minutes later I'm £30 richer.

Last week it was someone needing help to change a tyre (only paid the drop plus waiting time ungrateful b'stards) wonder what's next, wifes having a baby can you help deliver it ? Need to go on the roof can you hold the ladder ? People are starting to take the p*ss

wait till you get the phone call asking you to move a couple of bits of furniture !!!!!!! and turn up to find its a full house move !

That perhaps wouldnt be too bad, waiting time+mileage - moving an entire house in saloon could be a good little earner. Waiting time alone is £20 an hour, dont' know how I'd get the double bed and three piece suite in though !

What's irking me is people not using their brains and using cabbies for things other than transport. Got a problem, don't know how to deal with it ? Who ya gonna call, Ghostbusters ? Nah local cab firm. The bloke stuck with his telly, did he not think to get the staff to help, even deliver it, no he phoned a cab, not his wife/son/friends/chip shop. The ones with a flat tyre, RAC/AA/friends etc, who can best help us ? I know - your local friendly cab service !

That's because cabbies in general dress like navvies, labourers and odd job men instead of professional drivers.

I got a job the other weekend, this woman phoned up saying she was locked inside her daughters house and couldn't get out. She asked for a driver to go to her house and open the door after she has passed the key through the letter box. The job was only down the road so 3 minutes later and £15 in the pocket I was well pleased.

A few months back I got a job to the local Comet. Slightly different in that the guy had just bought a 50" flat screen TV and was driving a Vauxhall Tigra. He couldn't get it in his car and explained it would cost him more in delivery charges than to get a cab to take it the 2 miles home. Lots of space in the Citroen Xsara Picasso when the back seat are down. Got a good tip too.

I usually dread getting a call from currys TV's tumble driers are no problem but a couple of times I've turned up to find its an 8 foot high(with packaging) fridge freezer and a customer expecting me to dismantle my seats and drive down the road with the tailgate wide open just so they can avoid paying the delivery charge !

And they are non too happy when i say no !

well today I was asked to move a large box from Wilkos can't be too bad I thought a hardware store well turned out to be ....................................................................................................................................................................
