Skull, what are you like, eh ?. You’re predictions are about as reliable as Harold Camping’s. (the Rapture fella ). Here’s one o’ mine. Next RC meeting, Jim’s application refused, no S.U.D. Then the phone call to the Missus.
“ It’s me hen, I’ll have to carry oan’ renting am afraid, but there’s some light at the end o’ the tunnel. Skull says he has it on good authority that De-restriction is gonna’ happen in 2014. What age will a’ be then hen ?”.
hahahahahaha.......( A source from the very “Bowels” o’ the C.E.C.) hahahahaha....... Brilliant Skull !!

Well, Fairplay, I think your inbreeding is clouding your judgement as I never made any predictions I merely reported on what was said. Even I have my doubts. #-o

However, I do like the way de-restriction terrifies the [edited by admin] out of you.

As you know I've had my spats with Skull, the things that strike me are you won't change the mans mind, he makes good point about oppression, but his idea of who is doing it is wrong, we are simple folk ploughing through life, his ideals are Utopian, and in Utopia he would be 100% correct, however as Utopia will never exist due to mans brain his argument will always be flawed, but I've found some common ground with him, and if the world should go all Mad Max, I would make a friend of him simply because he is programmed to cope with what is fair should the capitalist world cease to exist, in the mean time I will have to resist him because it is a captalistic world and you either sink or swim.

It's got nothing to do with a utopian world or man's brain. However, you might be right about simple folk. It's indoctrination, propaganda and mind control. Capitalism is about dumbing down the masses denying them the ability to think for themselves while turning them into consumers. So, caught up in their little illusion, that's all they want to protect, Fairplay and Dougie being the result.

The elite in business runs the government and the veil of democracy controls the people.

It's a top-down control system with no bottom-up accountability.

Your taxi trade is a perfect example of a huge and potentially powerful industry with no control over anything. You don't seriously believe this is all an accident, do you? :-|

It used to be free until the wrong people took an interest in it, the Addison Lee type companies, now it's plagued with "crackers" enslaving both black and whites this time, I know a lot is now flawed, but opening doors isn't going to help anyone trust me I've been there and still have to sit amongst the irreversible damage.

Until driver and owner controls are properly regulated to keep baron's and unsuitables out there can be no de-restriction, in fact PH currently needs restricting, whether that should be done on plate issue or companies having to prove they can feed the numbers remains to be seen, but one thing I do know is if 50 mugs appear at the door of a PH office that is struggling to supply work, the owner of that firm will still take them on because of their sheer greed.

That's got feck all to do with it either.

Listen, having control over your own industry is not expecting those currently in control to regulate it for you. Don't you see? You are always looking outward for a solution. You perceive to be in the hands of those in authority. It's a control mechanism.

If we were all educated enough to develop a consensus of what represents our interests we wouldn't be arguing about what they allow us to have. We'd be taking control for ourselves.

The Legal fraternity is a classic example of those who regulate their own industry and represent their interests. Lawyers don't mug each other for jobs. It's a hierarchal carve-up.

Most come from privileged backgrounds or are at the very least, well-educated enough to know not to work against their own interest.

The taxi trade, on the other hand, is the flotsam and jetsam of society and a dumping ground for the bewildered herd.

You have no control over your own industry and therefore, the power to change anything. The rest is history. :-|

It's all yours Doom, click on the link below and read a speech that travelled across the world before the use of the internet.

I believe socialism to be a greasy pole where man's greed is ultimately his own undoing. However, click on the link and read Jimmy Reid's speech. It needs revising but a lot of what he said is still relevant today. In fact, probably more so, especially after the London riots.

Sorry to disillusion you. But you are none of the things you claim to be above.

You're just a product of a system that you don't have the wit to question.

You're an Edinburgh stepford cabby, an automaton who, when kicked in the teeth bares his bot so that he can be rogered again.

The system loves you though.

And just think, the scumbag who denied us the liberty to conduct our commercial interests with equality, as we're entitled to do in a free market economy, is languishing on the fat cat pension provided to him by the very people he spent his entire working life stiffing.

That's you automaton man.

BTW Saying that Edinburgh will de-restrict within 3 years is no different to saying that tramline B will be constructed.

Here's a thought. Take some council property (taxi licence) and allow it to be incorporated and traded between those desperate to purchase the illusionary status of businessman. However, remain in total control of your property by using the threat of de-restriction as a gun to their heads.

Instant archetypal slave committed to defending an illusion afforded him by those in control.

Once you've bought in, they own your as*

Dougie and Fairplay, simply don't want to believe it. #-o

What I meant was that you think bottom-up equates with accountability, whereas Jasbar seems to think it means getting shafted. Literally.
