And for that we should be thankful.

I'm broadly similar dresswise though, although no jeans, but I'm not big on ironing.

A lot of them were ties in my manor, which I'd be happy enough to do if the council so specified, but since some come out in jeans, trainers and trackies then I don't feel particularly scruffy.

If I was in another town or city and was confronted by someone with a football top, jeans and trainers - who's very possibly earning more than me - then I'd rather walk, thank you very much, althought I'd have to limit that to three or four miles or so.

If he can't make a bit of effort then it's shank's pony for me. :D

I am "Man at Matalan", a pair of suit pants from there £15, as good as anything you can get (from china).
Just the job with a white shirt.

Among the definition of 'mink' in the Urban Dictionary are the following:

Someone who dosent or cant afford to wash.

Look at the state of her hair she is such a mink.

Slang for a member of the travelling community.

Look out! the minks are coming!

as townie, charver and ned
found in and around the schemes of dundee

tracksuit bottoms, a stripey jumper, baseball cap
and more recently a hooded jumper with the hood up, even when inside

By the way, I think a 'scheme' in the Dundee context is what's usually called a council housing estate elsewhere.

In fact, from reading some of the threads in the Scottish section I suspect that Niddrie in Edinburgh qualifies as a scheme. :D

I assumed that the 'rats' comment referred to the animal called the mink - as in mink coat - which is a bit like a ferret. Or a rat. #-o

But of course the person who first mentioned mink didn't mean that at all, what they meant was a bit like 'minger'.

Anyway, here's a picture of a real mink. :D

You mean 'furry'?

On the other hand, 'fury' is what a lot of people feel at the thought of such garments :?

Cute!!! You don't know much about Mink do you? They are very viscious (don't think I spelt that right) out in the wild.
