Let's consider there is more than one reality, your objective reality, the way things are, and your subjective reality, what you want to believe. The real world or the dream world, there are other worlds and dimensions open to philosophical debate but let's not theorise too much and deal with the present, time being our level playing field.

Now what the fu*k don't you see about your precious taxi trade? Am I dreaming, or are you working a ridiculous number of hours, in a low-paid industry, with little protection from your council or the public, with almost no control over pay and conditions? :-|

Do you really believe I am doing nothing? I've been using what time I have very productively and that's why I'm sitting on this computer.

The truth is, driving a taxi is for scumbags, and it's guys like you who made it so. I don't know anyone that wouldn't get out in a heartbeat if given the choice.

I bumped into a guy working at the Scottish Parliament a couple of weeks ago who recently sold out. He told me he would never drive a taxi again. I also know a guy that left driving buses 18 years, ago to drive taxis. He's now back driving buses and didn't renew his taxi brief.

Now take yourself back to my first post and tell me where I have it wrong? The real world or the dream world? :-|

1 - You've always been on that computer

2 - No, it's a job for those who can put up with scumbags

3 - They've left so they won't say anything positive, although I can understand the seller guy, if I go that route it's my intention never to drive a cab again, but that's mainly because I don't want to work weekends anymore and don't want to have stinking coke snorters in my company anymore.

Trouble is I'm a NBC so I have little chance of getting out, I've tried before but it reels me back in each time, and every NBC that I know that has left has returned at some time, if it's in yer blud it's in yer blud I'm afraid, and that is the difference between wanting to and having to be a cabby.

If you must know, I've got a meeting on the 6th of October, and I have a lot to do before that. You and Dougie, are merely light entertainment.

I'm quite happy in my real world and with the money i make and the hours i work, the corner shop guy and the pub landlord who lease's are working day and night to make half of what i make for sitting on my back side.

Sorry for puting it straight Skull but i think you have been out of the trade too long

Subjective reality is not how you want things to be it is how you perceive things to be. It is coloured by the opinion of the speaker/writer. In this case you. That's not to say what you believe isn't true, it may well be, but for it to be objective there would have to be more solid evidence than your opinion that it is true. Objective reality is the kind of reality a rock will live in human beings tend to live in a subjective reality because we have emotions, experiences and beliefs.

Imo and of course it is only my opinion you appear to be aggrandizing the subject matter by using such words as 'objective' and 'subjective' reality and then having the audacity to define what you mean, as if we're not completely comprehending what you're on about. To add insult to injury you didn't even define it accurately ffs. Apart from all that objective and subjective reality are discussions that make up scientific debate they're not words to be flung about a taxi forum to make you look impressive

If you read my first sentence, I think you will find I said, your “subjective reality, and what you want to believe and not “ how you want things to be."

I then qualified objective and subjective reality within the narrow confines of a question directly relating to working in the taxi trade at the moment.

Quote:
Am I dreaming, or are you working a ridiculous number of hours, in a low-paid industry, with little protection from your council or the public, with almost no control over pay and conditions?

Objective and subjective reality is discussed on many forums, Science, Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology, etc.

One might say a screwball like you toots, has read a whole lot into something that wasn't there. Where's the evidence for calling you a screwball, right under your very nose and in your own writing.

Your man problem's never far away, is it toots?
