INCOME GENERATION

The local council pay £700 a year to Merseytravel for transporting each vulnerable person.

This money is now to be available by a smart card.

The smart card readers are being made available for taxis. The card reader will be linked to the meter.

Bookings will be made by mobile phone.

A cab driver will need a hands free system.

A driver will need a “voyager” account with Voyager Credit union. A non profit credit union.

The mobility allowance is to be axed in 2013, that allowance is £40 million pounds on Merseyside. This amount is to be available on a Walrus card, which can also be linked to a cab meter.

At a meeting in Liverpool tonight.. .. . the Liverpool hackney trade made it quite plain they are not interested....

Truthfully.. and I lie to you not... they were frightened that Hackney's from the other four areas might possibly pick up in Liverpool..... and some of your lot were there as well..

the mind boggles surely if they won't sign up then that guarantees cabs from outside the area will have to be invited in to provide the service ?

Is there any danger that ph might be invited to fill the void left by the taxis. I'll put money on it being related to "they know what you've earned if you do that"
