Today Miss Hughes said she was considering the next step in her fight against the ruling and had not ruled out making a bid to the European Court of Human Rights. [/b]
But look at the size of the bloody dog.

ROFL.

Perhaps we should report her to the RSPCA.

I suggest a European Convention on Alsation Rights, to be incorporated into UK law by means of a Canine Rights Act.

But seriously, it can't be much fun for a dog cooped up in a taxi all day.

Linda said:

At home I have ducks, chickens, bantams, a pet rook and three cats all loose in the garden, as well as two pheasants and a parrot, and she's never bothered.

If you follow her logic then there's no reason why she shouldn't have the lot in the taxi, it would be like a facking menagerie!!

A pet rook, whatever next :D

I'd rather have bother with the dog than with Linda.

As far as letting the ducks ride as well, thats just quackers

Taxi driver continues to fight dog ban

A Ludlow taxi driver who lost an appeal against a decision to ban her pet dog from her vehicle is continuing her fight, she revealed today.

Private hire driver Linda Hughes, of Wheatcommon Lane, Ashford Bowdler, last month lost her right to keep white German Shepherd, Anna Cassandra IV, in her car during journeys.

Miss Hughes was told by magistrates that keeping a dog in a taxi, even behind a barrier, would pose a risk to public safety.

But she has now officially placed an appeal with the crown court against the magistrates' decision.

Miss Hughes, who runs Ludlovian Taxis, said: "We have put the appeal in because of the deadline of 21 days after the original decision.

"I am trying to contact national newspapers and different people to get funding. If I can get funding then we will carry on and if not then I will have to withdraw.

"If there is anybody out there who is a dog lover and believes in what I am doing, please get in touch."

Meanwhile, South Shropshire District Council is planning a massive review of rules and regulations governing taxi drivers following the controversial court case.

That may seem a good idea, but now she is liable for all the council's costs up to the date she withdraws that appeal.

But then again, she just might go the whole way.

If it's goes to Crown Court, or seems that it may, then the council will have to instruct a barrister, and gain an opinion.

Not cheap.
