I wish the site well but the VRQ never replaced the NVQ it's just the requirement for the NVQ has been dropped by some councils and not before time in my opinion. The NVQ is the biggest waste of education funds I've ever witnessed. The thing I find strange is they could find upwards of £1,800 pounds for an NVQ cadidate but they couldn't find the £150 for the VRQ candidate :? It's also a shame that they don't have any follow on courses available for those drivers that would like to learn other things.

Also in all fairness I don't see how this helps Midlander with his ticket

I would be interested in learning other things - because I can't be taught ANYTHING about Taxi Driving that I don't know already by experience.

BTW I have yet to meet a driver of any reasonable experience, who has learned anything of worth on these money making schemes, also known as courses.

So what would you suggest?

Cookery.

Art Appreciation.

Photography.

Instructional Technique (so you can clamber aboard the gravy train).

Self assessment, business planning, web design, how to set up a company/co-op, transport logistics, basic vehicle maintenance and how to open a tin of pineapples. I do believe there would be no point in you going on a cookery course  The other thing you have to remember is the trade is not full of men like yourself :D

You said the P word - your shout on the wobbly coffee.

I can't believe my little Piranha gave you that ammunition.

I do not mind learning - I like learning - but when you can suck an egg you can suck an egg.

Scarborough for the wobbly coffee you now owe me?

If you get to the bar before me.... I'll have... a large Scotch and Canada dry... with a side order of a bottle of red and the bottle of white wine..... to start with.

There's a company round here at the moment who are advertising on the Radio saying the Licensing Officers are refusing to licence Taxi Drivers if they don't take the Not Very Qualified course.

Here's the cowboys website. http://www.safetyproblemsolutions.com/

"SPS Training, your gaining." I get sick of hearing the damn advert. The chaps voiceing of the commercial is so patronising as well.

I guess as a trade we got what we deserved because none of us needed 'training' in the first place
