I know a brum PH driver whose MPV took a direct but light whack up the back, hes claimed and has een provided with a plated vehicle while his is repaired (very little, if any, damage)

heres the rub

the plated loan vehicle is a E7 which came with a brum PH plate and stickers whilst bearing stickers stating "TAXI" and having a TAXI rooflight....so how did it pass a compliance test?

oh, and its costing the 3rd's parties insurer £245 a DAY.....

We have companies here that provide plated vehicles for such incidents but they have already had a compliance test prior to the plate being issued so surely that is what has happened here

i did this once with a non fault accident

its basically a vehicle hire company, the insurance or more probably the repairer set this up for him as they get kickbacks.

the vehicle was taken to the cab office and presented as a replacement vehicle, tested and plated, when the repairs are done on your motor its then represented as a replacement vehicle.

its a real pain in the arse, and the third party are not responsible for the costs,if the claim fails for whatever reason the costs will fall on the hirer  that will be you. eusasmiles.zip

they supplied a brand new tx4 and the cost were somit like £270 per day,i had it for a month, and we wonder why our insurance has gone up

and yes they do try and hide the fact that its a hire to you.

you could end up out of pocket depending on your LA'S test standards when it comes to putting your motor back on road

be wary and get the repairs chased up on your own motor asap

We had an Octavia on hire last year after a non fault accident, I think the other parties insurance was being charged something daft like £170 a day. We had for a good 3 months before the claim was sorted out.

A few years ago a claims handling company hired one of my stretched limos at £200 per day plus VAT. That was hired for exactly 6 months. The daft thing was that I then had to turn some work away to the company that had my limo because I could no longer do it myself.

Theres one round here did that after a van rolled into his vehicle whilst he was sat having a cup of tea the damage to the car was from the cup of tea spilling on the dashboard he had a loan car for 5 weeks before they realised the claim wasn't gonna happen and they snatched it back off him !

And that one was costing the insurance about £950 a week and we wonder why our premiums are going up ?
