Appeal to taxi driver who give lift to man dressed as banana

A taxi driver who gave a lift to a passenger dressed as a banana could hold vital information to an alleged sexual assault.

A group, including a woman and between two and four men, got into the taxi at around 2am on Thursday October 6 at The Beat nightclub in Bridge of Allan. They were dropped off at Wallace Street in Stirling.

Two of the men were in fancy dress; one was wearing a banana costume and another was possibly a clown. A Central Scotland Police spokeswoman said: "We have carried out extensive enquiries in an effort to trace the taxi driver. We believe he may hold vital information and we are keen for him to come forward.

“We are certain that the taxi driver would remember this pick-up as two of the men were in fancy dress costumes."

i think 90% of drivers had some fort of fruit in there cab and definitely a few clowns

police have since ruled out the clown he had an alibi seemingly he was seen driving a red metrocab in and about Edinburgh,
As for the banana the amateur detective in me suggests it must have been a same sex assault as it seems the banana was not straight,I think he has managed to give the police the slip.
A police spokesman said, when interviewed the clown said he always wears a medallion mans outfit when attending any fancy dress event
