Why can't you lot just shut your mouths?
Look it ain't hard to understand is it! Someone comes on a forum asking questions that have already been answered by the documents about the fare increase on the council website and some rank amatuers, and there seem to be a never ending supply of those on these forums and of course it has to be a dummy from one of the Radio companies who duly oblige them

, where is the logic in that, try using your brains you bunch of clowns.
The trade in Edinburgh is okay, I would hate to have to register for VAT if I were close to the threshold, wouldn't it be horrible to have to add VAT to the fares or deduct that same amount from your profits.
Fact is that the current setup in Edinburgh will always fall short of that threshold of £73000.00, nobody is that stupid.......are they.....Fungi? perhaps we should try some form of omerta.
Queerie 123456 go and read the document on the CEC website, the earnings quoted are what you can expect from working an average amount of hours, of course there is always some slack in the system and you can make more if you work more hours, it's quite simple really and everything is there for your perusal, no need to ask the afflicted on this forum.
But nowadays there is a pretty obvious tendency among the small firms to avoid VAT registration. Some UK economists say that it is normal. Because when a firm’s turnover exceeds UK VAT threshold (£73,000 - as of April 2011), this entrepreneurship has to register for VAT. It means that after registration an entrepreneur has only two ways of continuing his activity: either increasing the prices for 17.5% or decreasing his profit. But both options are not quite efficient for a businessman. Even if the prices are increased, he is likely to lose his clients and in this way to lose his profit.http://vat-threshold.co.uk/
