My pepper spray is a full partition screen behind the driver, separating me from the miscreants.

That's why I drive a purpose converted taxi!!

:-|

It's legal. :-| With a range of four meters. :-|

Used in conjunction with an attack alarm and a Maglite might be a good idea, especially if you're a female. :-|

The alarm would startle your attacker. The paint would be blind him, and you could always beat his brains out with the Maglite, if you were in the mood. :-|

Oh and always remember the magic words when being interviewed by the police, “I was in fear for my life.” :-|

He is only 29 and has five previous convictions, it does make you wonder how he got a licence in the first place.

Legal to buy and posess maybe, but still classed as an offensive weapon if you use it. Certainly if it's within easy reach in the vehicle as that shows an intent to use. In the same way that if you have a wheelbrace in the boot it's ok but not if it's in the drivers door pocket.

The problem all those working at night is 'is carrying something like that worth it?'.

Will it help you stop a beating, or worse? IMO that would.

Could you lose your license if you use it when you shouldn't? IMO possibly.

I wonder how you would feel after you've been attacked and raped. "it was probably just as well, I never sprayed the guy with paint  the council might not have approved"
