Remember what that idiot Preest did in Plymouth, and that other idiot AD Lee in London is still doing now

Do you have evidence that they are a greater risk?

Evidence? Since when has Skippy needed evidence? If Skippy says it's true then it must be true.

My premium last year was £1170.

This year they want £1742!

And they want me to call them if I get a cheaper quote from elsewhere, to see if they can bend the underwriters arm to see if they will do it any cheaper!!

I can already feel the pain deep in my ar$e as they try to shaft me!!

Ouch!!!

So, as usual I've sent out the annual 87 emails to various taxi insurance comapnies and brokers with my full details.

Now I just wait for them to email back and pick the best [not necessarily the cheapest] quote and they'll have my business.

As for ringing back to my current insurer; well if they can't do it first time, then they don't get my business.

Same here, this year £1,425, last year £920. Phoned up another broker who quoted me just over £1,000, I got back in touch with my insurance place who said we can do it for £1,100, I told them to f**k off if they could do it for that why didn't they quote me that in the first place?? I might look and act a c*nt but when it comes to ££££££ I'm switched on.

Some insurance companys have a policy of beating a written quote. Which means that the first figure will always be higher.
Here is one for you with my renewal. It was due on October 12th. I agreed the renewal figure on October 11th. I pay by monthly direct debit. How come the company providing the finance for this tried to get the first payment on October 5th, 6 days before I had agreed to renew?

Because if they can get the payment early, they're first in and they have you by the 'short and curlies'!!

I would estimate that the average PH driver is of foreign origin, mostly responsible for the higher premiums

But the above premiums are going up for vehicles driven by white people, so how do you work that out?

They're going up for everyone, white, black, coffee, pink; colour is irrelevant!!

If 'MaHatma Coat' as you call him has the ability to go in a strait line, then he must have been training to be a fisherman, so he won't be bothering the taxi or PH trade and won't be applying for a PH licence!!

English hackney driver picks up 2 fares at a hotel. Somehow misses seeing a concrete pedastal while pulling out of hotel forecourt. Damage to car below own damage excess. Fares laughing and pay up happily at destination. 3 months after incident claim lodged by passengers for whiplash. One gets £1850, one gets £2200 and solicitors get £4000.

English hackney has door ajar and is hit by female cyclist. She falls to ground but driver is an old school gent. Takes her to A&E no charge, takes her home, no charge. Husband rides bike all fine. Result? £12000 special damages to cyclist, £8000 NHS Trust charges for treatment and £17000 solicitors bill for handling claim.

English hackney driver 2am emerging from petrol station. Young female student, bit p****ed riding pedal cycle on pavement with no lights on. As driver pulling out of garage, cyclist hits him. Injury claim etc still outstanding. His insurer will get stuffed for this and it won't be £50!

When the weather is nice ish, I go off on my travels and call into taxi/ph firms and visit ranks to leave publicity material to promote our insurance business. IMHO it is really difficult to generalise. Take Slough, the hackney trade is mainly Sikh and the PH trade Pakistani. There are good and bad in both. I've seen slobbish appearances in a major army town with the white English TX drivers on the rank wearing shell suits, tatoos, shaved heads and body peircings. The men drivers were as bad! Not far away in the next LA at the station were a line of absolutely pristine Toyota Avensis hackneys with smart friendly and well spoken Asian guys in charge.

We often have people call, mainly from midland and Northern urban areas who have lived and worked in the UK for many years yet can barely speak English. These are the people I have little time for. Of course along with the Innit brigade.

Nutshell - the system is wrong as far as claims go and I can't help wondering who would be picking up the drunks on a Saturday night if suddenly the trade became 100% white/English. The guy in example 2 above will only work 08.00 to 18.00, is not on a circuit and complains there is no work or money in the trade.
