Why do Tariff's change at 6pm and 6am :?: What is the pro's and cons of this :?: Why not 4pm and 4am :?: 4pm is the start of rush hour  So why not change Tariff changing times to suit supply and demand times :?:

Pro's, cons and benefits welcome :D

There should be not change in tariff until 10 PM and back to normal at 7 AM,
The tariffs originally went by the 3 shift patterns of industry 10 PM to 7 AM was considered night shift where workers got a small premium over day shift
We dont change until 10 PM in the Borders, so is it any wonder your complaining its quiet up there through the week

We're 10pm to 6am

I think it's not right, 6pm to 6am, the night shift in any company starts at 6pm, why the cab trade chose 10pm is beyond me, if you work nights you should get more than days, it's not rocket science is it.

when I came to the trade(16 yrs ago) it was midnight to 7am. Through various changes it's now 9pm till 6am.

South Ayrshire is Midnight to 6am, but the only change is an additional £1.00 to the Standard Start Fare.

6.00pm is a very strange time to change a tariff. :-k

It's the time the day ends and the night begins, and as ours is a paltry 50p I don't think it's unreasonable to have the calender change from 1 to 2 at 6pm.

iirc Southend had to increase their fares at night to get cabbies to work those hours because the late night public had become so vile and nobody wanted to entertain them anymore, now the whole country is like it, as CC said all fecked up by Liberal Facist's who have their noses in non confrontational business but seem to lose their cornhole when it comes to tackling the real anti social problems we now face since kids are educated to back chat and people who are supposed to be looking look the other way and in some cases are involved in illegal activities that bring them in more cash, bit like the US when they sent their soldiers to Vietnam so they could sell them the sniff and inject harvest of the region and then shun them on return because they didn't bring the trophy home with them.

Quite why the taxi trade is seen like traffic wardens is beyond me, I've noticed it ever since I got my first badge, got money to get in a club, got it for beer, got it for $2 shirts that cost £80 in the shop, but £6 between 4 people is an issue to a lot of customers.....oooh why is it so expensive, get feckin real!
