the first thing you must do is sit the medical, if you fail this everything else is including the test (which the council will let you sit first will be worthless) the current fees are between one hundred to two depending on whitch doctor you choose, go for your own, if you pass the medical then sit the street test, you get three tries at it and most fail on one then pass on the second, you can also try approaching the cab officer in advance and ask for some guidance on the street test, now that 203020 are learning applicants the test he should be able to help you, there are also some plate owners who are desperate enough to pay for your badge (sixty five)but you will have to drive for them,if all goes well then you have to decide operator/driver, if you are only looking for a hundred then forget operator, if i was only looking to earn one hundred next week id have to have roughly three hundred and forty on the meter, which is a lot of fares, taxi cost ,insurance, fuel ,office fees, the biggest offices in dundee charge seventy three pounds a week , im not sure about 203020,
if you are only looking for a ton a week part time taxing will be the answer two midweek night shifts will cover it or one big night weekend shift, taxing is like all buisneses dont just dive in test the waters then decide

Sorry for being flippant, but would it not be better talking to your uncle who is a taxi driver.
I think you are very niave,or taking the michael.
There is no way you will get a badge before 21 years of age and also the insurance will be horrific, due to the companies saying 25 years plus.
Good luck, but please take your time and speak to a few people,in fact go and see Fiona at John Paton insurers,Brantwood Avenue, she will give you the low down on insurance and have a word with your doctor to see if he thinks you can cope.
Also if you want hackney, you will have to put on a Wav,if not PH a decent saloon car.
Regards
