PPSS Group Launch Cut Resistant Clothing for Taxi Drivers

Following a number of violent knife attacks on taxi drivers in, UK based PPSS Group have now launched cut resistant clothing to help protect them.

Knaresborough, United Kingdom, November 23, 2011 --(PR.com)-- "We believe that our high performance cut resistant clothing will help protect taxi drivers, who often work alone at night, dealing with potentially hostile and intoxicated members of the public," says Robert Kaiser, their CEO.

Smart looking and comfortable cut and slash resistant windbreaker, sweat shirts, sleeves and gloves are now available from PPSS Group directly and are ideal for taxi drivers and private hire.

“A knife attack, which sees the radial artery, the carotid artery or the axillary artery being cut or slashed will under normal circumstances lead to a rapid blood loss and can subsequently lead to death,” explains Robert Kaiser.

He continues by saying: “We strongly believe knife and slash resistant clothing, shielding these four main arteries, should be available to all taxi drivers who frequently have to face racial harassment, aggressive complains about the fare and serious drunken disorders.”

All protective garments are machine washable and made out of Cut-Tex® PRO, the world’s market leading cut resistant fabric, offering EN 388:2003 Blade Cut Resistance Level 5, the highest possible.

The safety of the taxi drivers is an important issue, as their job takes them to some places of great danger and also taking the great variety of people into consideration they have in their vehicles can also cause a serious threat to the driver.

Should you have any questions in reference to personal protective equipment for taxi driver, then please feel free to contact PPSS Group on +44 (0) 845 5193 95 email info@ppss-group.com or visit www.ppss-group.com

I've had a look at their web site and it states black as standard, other colours available on request. Nothing there about price though. I have asked them to give me a call.

“A knife attack, which sees the radial artery, the carotid artery or the axillary artery being cut or slashed will under normal circumstances lead to a rapid blood loss and can subsequently lead to death,”

Unless the clothing covers the neck and lower arms it won't be much protection for the radial and carotid arteries, and you could be stabbed anyway !

if you look at the clothing on their website you will see that they have clothing that covers the neck and lower arms. The also do stab vests and bullit proof vests. There is a video on the website demonstrating the the clothing.

I'm sure if I asked nicely even CC can be persuaded to part with it especially if whilst asking nicely I waved notes at him

If someone gets in your motor with a 6 inch balde nothing is going to stop them from shanking you with that knife, no stab proof vest nothing.

Waste of time IMO.
