Right here's how I tackled the Not Very Qualified debacle.

1. Go to the course and ask him how long he's been Taxi Driving?

2. Ask him how old he is?

3. Ask him if he's familiar with the TPC (Town Police Clauses Act)?

4. Ask him he's familiar with the Local Government Miscellaneous Provisions Act?

5. Ask him what he'd do in a situation where there's been an accident and how long he's got to report it?

6. Ask him what he'd do in a robbery situation?

7. Ask him what sort of oil goes into a Common Rail Desel engine on a Taxi?

8. Ask him how may paid miles he drives each year?

9. Ask him about the CRB checks.

10. The killer, how much is he making out of the course?

Do the above and you won't be bothered again.

As for SPS Training they won't return my calls, Emails or letters. They've took their advert off the local Radio Station to. =D>

Quote:
Drivers who take the Btec learn very valuable things like how to manage disabled customers properly.

You put the wheelchair in the boot, make sure the passenger is sat comfortably then you drive off.

At the other end you get the wheelchair out of the boot and the passenger gets into the wheelchair and their carer / partner take over from there.

Not hard is it?

The firm the Phv I drive is registered with do a lot of local NHS contracts. The trusts now seem to be saying the will want all drivers working their contracts to have the NVQ. I don't really get involved in these jobs but I was offered the chance to do the NVQ and accepted. I have registered and understand the course will be some time in early 2012. My hopes aren't high for it but i will give it a go. I'm not really sure who is paying but I did latch on to the course fee being £1200.

Unless you have been bundled in the try some free scheme it will be you paying, no PH firm is going to stump up £1200 on a driver that could then leave 3 weeks later, you need to find out before you commit yourself or you could find a large bill awaits you.

Those who miss out a comma, make it funnier!

Could it, or should it be "Those who can't teach resort to teaching NVQ's to taxi Drivers".

The correct quote, when translated from the French is of course:

"Those who can, do.

Those who can't, teach."
