My brokers rang, my NCB is down from 4 years to 1 cos of my October accident, they had notice of a £2700 claim against my insurance

WHATTTTT?

well the claims £1500 but they always overestimate the claim for safety

hang on, £1500?............er that what MY CAR was gonna cost to repair via a repair centre which i didnt do, i didnt claim and neither has the 3rd party according to the Insurance company....

thats MY paperwork and claim your looking at, dipstick...

£700 extra on my insurance if id claimed the £700 (over the excess) repair cost, so why insure fully comp?

Sadly its the Insurance company who hold my NCB who are getting confused so i cant tell em to swivel, broker said "pay the £2000 and we will refund the £700 when the NCB is re-instated"

dream on lad....

the plot thickens

my insurers are happy to delet what would have been my claim for my repairs

HOWEVER they had a claim for £2750 from the trucks owners (no indication what for) from an accident management company (ambulance chasers)

they havent been heard from since November 4th, but ive lost my 4 yrs NCB down to 1 year till its sorted

claimant has an "independent" witness but i reckon thats the drivers mate (in the cab at the time)

they havent responded to my insurers request for witness statements

Been in that situation myself ended up losing 2yrsNCB because of a non fault accident that was not listed as settled and it was my insurers who were also the third parties insurers that had prevented its being settled and i had paid all of the repair costs myself and only needed reinbursing but had to pay an extra £500 on the premium for a £350 repair bill which I had paid myself anyway so my insurers had had to pay out NOTHING and i was being charged an extra £500 on my premium

By the way the insurance company wouldn't be Aviva (Norwich Union) by any chance ?

mine isnt but they may be the trucks insurers but he hasnt claimed off his own insurance, his broker knows nothing

what happens is accidents have to be reported even when theres no fault or claim and then these "no win no fee" vultures ring round offering to squeeze money out regardless

having said that the vultures shouldnt have access to accident information, maybe thats where the problem lies

im wondering if its the driver making the claim himself

his front driver step/corner hit my rear N/S wheel arch, so i was obviously 80% past him
