Jasbar: It seems to me that you suffer from a similar problem to those that you criticise.

Good job Skull won't be on the ranks then, or World War III would be breaking out

I wasn't going to make further comment on this thread because of the unbelievably stupid comments.

Love them or hate them, ECPH, have identified that over 50% of journeys from the airport to the city centre, are with a single passenger on board. That means, potentially, their target market is at least half the taxi work from the airport.

(If you had the figures, you could work out a worst-case scenario - the number of single passengers, likely to use smart cars depending on price and availability.)

Now let's just say, worst-case scenario, that 20 Smart Cars advertising ECPH, with their telephone number emblazoned on the side, are belting up and down the green-ways - 24/7.

The above scenario would be worth it, solely from the point of view of raising their company's profile and credibility.

What don't you get, nothing happens in isolation, have you forgot that taxis are being added to the ph fleet, advertising ECPH, as a taxi company?

I bet, Woodburn and Gibson have all the figures they need, right before their very eyes.

On the strength of the above, you could make a good argument for Ph, to be liveried and given access to the green-ways. :-|

20 Smart cars doesn't even come close to 50% of the journey's that come out of the Airport, so come on do your sums Skull, how many would it take to cover the 50%, now bare in mind customers coming through the airport come in bursts, so lets say 100 smart cars to have any realistic impact, thats some investment on the presumption and where are they going to get 100 drivers under 13 stone to drive them and what about the luggage, and hey where are they going to rank up, i can just see it now, a huge convoy of smart cars lined up but punters ignoring the prospect of sitting so close to a 20 stone private hire driver who hasn't a clue where he's going, fecking funny as feck   close your eyes and share the vision     .

Skull they don't hand out Smart cars for free so its financialy impossible to justify buying say 100 Smart cars on a presumption or a marketing idea, they have already tried a 30 % discount with over 400 cars and it hasn't worked, just like the Smart car won't work either, in my opinion its just an excuse to get another bundle of phc plates and waste some more money

The customer does have the right to choose and the customer still prefers black cabs, smart cars won't attract single females who actually prefer black cabs because they are much bigger and safer than a private car, fact as the stats prove.

Skull its all xmas pudding in the sky so i don't care, let the phc spend their money on hair brained idea's, black cabs in Edinburgh and as long as the number is restricted will survive anything that the phc will throw at us.

Game on Baby :D :D :D

They can put as many smart cars on as they want, the black rank takes 80% of the work at the airport onward gets 15% so only 5% left. The airports fecked 10 hours today made £48.80 less expenses £48.00 so made 80p profit and the rest of the years not been much better. the only people making money at the airport is baa

PH already have access to the Greenways.

The key to unlock it has been supplied. It just needs a prosecution to happen.
