But didn't Salmond say last week that he wanted Scotland "at the heart of Europe"?

Are you sure you've thought this 'independence' thing through, Reggie?

I dont think they've thought through 50 million people to the south of them

Would that be the 50 million people who don't have enough water, electricity or oil for their ever expanding needs?

In Europe or out of it, I don't personally give a toss. Out of Britain will do for me, either way.

Alex Salmond is playing a blinder  David Cameron knows that if GB sign up lock stock and Barrell to Europe then the argument for full independence is strenghtend, as surely as a country with so much POWER we would deserve a seat at the top table.

David cameron is running scared and is even willing to have GB kicked out of the EU Scotland is in a win win because if GB leaves the EU, we will vote for Devo Max, then the powers we have can be sold to the highest bidders, business tax will fall also.

CC we also know that there are 3 million down south who can't work or won't work

Anyone thinking independence is going to turn Scotland into some sort of Utopia is completely delusional. What, suddenly we are going to have caring politicians looking after our interests, you must be mad. #-o

Since when have the 'powers that be' in London worried about things like that?

If they want something they just go and help themselves.

Apart from the Buckfast (made in England BTW), that would describe many of the places I've seen south of the border.

In fact the main difference between the two is perhaps ably demonstrated by your avatars - just a different flag flying

In the Reform Scotland online survey recently, participants were asked - What is your preferred option for Scotland's political future?

Independence - 61.8%
A transfer of more financial and spending powers - 24.4%
Status quo - 7.7%
Scrap the Scottish Parliament - 6.2%

The report states that: "A clear overall majority ineach of the party groupings believes that the Scottish Parliament should be responsible for raising the majority of the money its spends."

Scotland will flourish by the sweat of labour
The strength of our will and the force of our mind
Forget the old battles, those days are over
Hatred corrupts and friendship refines

Let the Scots be a nation proud of their heritage
With an eye to the future and a heart to forgive
And let us be rid of those bigots and fools
Who will not let Scotland live and let live

Let us govern over country wisely and fairly
Let each man and woman work with a will
And Scotland will flourish secure in the knowledge
That we reap our own harvest and ring our own till

And let us be known for our kind hospitality
A hand that is open proper to friends
A hard working people, proud and unbending
Scotland will thrive and win out in the end

Scotland will flourish by the sweat of labour
The strength of our will and the force of our mind
Forget the old battles, those days are over
Hatred corrupts and friendship refines

So let us be known for our kind hospitality
A hand that is open proper to friends
A hard working people, proud and unbending
Scotland will thrive and win out in the end

Yes, as all ably demonstrated by the taxi trade in the Scottish section Image

Who writes romanticised pish like that? Presumably they don't inhabit the real world? #-o
