Jailed for threat on taxi driverA PASSENGER who held a "sharp object" to a taxi driver's neck and stole back the money he had given him for the fare has been jailed for three years.
Bristol Crown Court heard Lascalle Carter, 32, was picked up from outside Yellow Cabs in Bedminster Parade in the early hours of Christmas Eve 2010.
The driver refused to take him any further but agreed to take him back to the taxi rank. Carter placed a sharp object at the back of the driver's neck, asking him: "Do you want me to cut you up and pour some blood?"
Carter, of Staveley Crescent, Southmead, admitted taking the money but denied robbery, saying no weapon was produced and no threats were made. He was found guilty after a three-day trial.
