I see Alex has now announced a rough date of Autumn 2014 for the yes/no vote.

Strange that he has waited so long to announce that date, and surely a coincidence it happened on the same day the UK Gov announced they would legislate for a yes/no vote ASAP. :-k

So will it be the Scottish Euro pegged to the Euro, the Scottish pound pegged to the Euro or the Scottish pound pegged to the English pound?

Whatever it is, unless someone can tell me different, it wont be controlled by the good people of Edinburgh. :-$

The day of Westminster dictating to the Scottish people are over :D

Any thoughts on how you will employ the 30,000 civil servants who will lose their jobs upon independence as their work is in Scotland but on English elements? - This came from the Radio 4 programme last night.

The queens mother was Scottish, the Scottish blood also comes directly from Mary queen of Scots, her son, his daughter and her daughter right up to our present queen. More Scottish than English me thinks.

Er, Westminster is your Parliament as well Reggie, until such time as Scotland says otherwise, which doesn't seem like happening anytime soon.

You ask about what Westminster is doing. I think it's currently trying to organise a legal referendum on Scottish independence.

Meanwhile, it seems that the Scottish Parliament is trying to organise an illegal one [-X

And what else has it achieved, by the way, since its "brilliant job" seems to have passed me by - I take it it hasn't passed legislation for your medallion scheme yet?

As for Westminster being a "mess", I would agree. =D>

I think the Border should be at least back to Hadrian's wall where we can at least shut the gates at night, just in time to be home to be able to drool over Jacky Bird on reporting Scotland :D

"We are pledging a light-touch regulation suitable to a Scottish financial sector with its outstanding reputation for probity, as opposed to one like that in the UK, which absorbs huge amounts of management time in ‘gold-plated’ regulation."

Alex Salmond, 2007

"And of course we Scots are lucky enough to have the one of the best brands in the world - a global recognition and affection for our culture that money cannot buy. Take financial services. With RBS and HBOS - two of the world's biggest banks - Scotland has global leaders today, tomorrow and for the long-term."

6,000 MILES OF SCOTTISH SEA THAT WESTMINSTER MADE ENGLISH IN 1999
Image
In 1999 Westminster moved Scotland's Marine Boundaries from Berwick-upon-Tweed to Carnoustie. Illegally making 6000 miles of Scotland's waters English.

Scottish MSP's who belong to the parties who allowed this order must be ashamed of this order or worried of the affect it will have at the Holyrood election. Should enough Scots be made aware of this dreadful decision.

As someone in the Scottish Office has recently changed the website to just show the co ordinates of the order.

Read the order on the revised Scottish Office website

This is what they displayed before.

Read the full order that was on the Scottish Office website until recently

The shocking thing about this secret order is that it was not openly discussed in the Commons, passed by the house of Lords and then passed by a very select Labour and Liberal committee in the Scottish Office.

One wonders if, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the First of Scotland, knew how undemocratic this order was before she signed it ?

This unjust act secretly passed, without the consent of the Scottish People took approximately 15% of oil and gas revenues out of the Scottish sector of the North Sea taking £2.2 Billion out of the Scottish economy. This lost revenue is more than the proposed £35 Billion Scottish budget cuts for the next 15 years (£2.16 Billion per year)

This order was passed on the grounds of Scottish and English fishing rights.
Why then did Hamish Morrison, the Scottish Fishermen's Federation chief executive, say that although the boundaries became law a month ago, the federation had not been informed about the decision and there had been no effort made by the government to consult with the organisation on the matter.

Full transcript of fishing / oil debate 26 April 2000 after the secret order was passed without consultation) or read this pdf file on Scotland reduced fishing zone.

When you play golf at St Andrews and look way out to sea, you are looking at English Waters according to the treacherous Westminster powers that be. read more scotland's marine borders

There is a shocking fact that few people in Scotland or elsewhere know which is just as disgraceful as the 30 year Westminster administration and deceit over Scotland’s oil. This is the as-yet unexplained and secret action by Westminster Order in 1999 to move Scotland’s marine boundary from Berwick-upon-Tweed to Carnoustie. To this day this lost Scotland 6,000 square miles of the North Sea, nodded through at the time by the feckless and treacherous Lib/Lab arm of Westminster based in Holyrood.
