Usually in the front of the car somewhere in the middle of the dash.

Presumably you're new to the trade - where and how do you intend to work?

If you're going to be working for an office then why not ask them for the names of local dealers?

I will work in Dunfermline and surrounding area and I will work for myself, I already have a licence and just bought a car(will have it on tuesday) so need to make next steps(licence, insurance, install the meter etc.)
I know that I will not be making crazy many but I just have enough sitting at home,so 4-5 days or evenigngs or nights a week I am intend to work.

There's a chap from Fife being posting on here recently so he might be able to help you.

Then again, I'm sure I saw him browsing earlier, so perhaps not, but maybe that was before you added your enquiry.

You could try contacting the likes of Digitax and Cygnus and asking if they have local agents in your area.

Or perhaps you could find out local agents via Google.

Failing that perhaps the chaps in Edinburgh who post on here could suggest an agent, since you won't be too far from there?

You could try this lot if you can't find anyone else - it says they serve Fife - but it looks like the wrong side of Edinburgh for you.

There's a Dunfermline Digitax agent listed here:

Our council tell us where to go to get the meter fitted.

The local licensing department will have details of local meter agents
