It's better than the word taxi.....plus the words 'sc*mbag', 'sh*thouse', and 'ar*eholes' are maybe a tad controversial.

Indeed, particularly when the press and public routinely use the term 'taxi' to refer to either side of the trade.

The whole thing would be a lot easier if everyone used PHV rather than mincab, because the former is the legal definition and thus won't be going away any time soon, thus if minicab is also used then it just confuses things.

And of course the whole taxi/HC thing for the other side of the trade just adds to the confusion.
