your wrong thier as well
i drove the first taxi myself
the second 2 went on a year apart,i drove the first one myself put the second one out to rent at a far reduced rental of £100 less than market price pw
so i hardly see myself as an exploiter of anything apart from the system which is not of my own design.

So if you drive the car yourself and then sell the plate then that's OK? Funny, never heard Skull or Jasbar make that particular argument.

And I suppose you gave the other plates away for nothing

some systems are inherited and therfore you have no choice

perhaps you can tell me what the other choice is in the current cec system ????????????

Put it this way Ali, no one was forcing MPs to claim the cost of cleaning their moat or buying duckhouse on expenses.

But when they did they could hardly blame the system.

It's amazing how everything becomes a matter of principle and morality when the black and white of the system benefits some who have the balls to challenge it, but not others.

The council tries to fu*k everyone over but loses, and it's the applicants fault because he has the cheek to win.

What kind of a fu*king debate is this?

For what it's worth I think the more folks like Ali T 'abuse' the system, the more chance the system will change.

If everyone sat around and had tea and cakes then nothing would change.

There are far too many folks in this trade that do f*** all but moan about this that and the other, but then sit around and do nothing about it.

I'm quite sure Ali T isn't expecting a Knighthood when the 'house of cards' does come tumbling down, which maybe is just as well. :D

like public taxi ranks exclusively for the use of a certain taxi company you mean

or being friendly with licensing officers
or being a rep of an organization that doesn't represent drivers but owners and cartels.

that kind of principle

at least you save some money on the free lunches and biscuits eh

But it's the system that you support that allows him to do what he has done.

Get rid of that and he wont be able to do what he is doing.

deflection....wow original

I dont think I'm that friendly with LO's.......and i think being a rep of an organisation that represents the interests of those drivers you sell plates too is perhaps a good thing......their mothers obviously didnt warn them about guys like you.

I dont support that system.....I dont think alit (or his good lady wife, who has never driven a cab in her life? ) should ever have a plate again....I guess theres plenty of qualified drivers who deserve a plate in edinburgh way before him......and who would be quite prepared to put on brand new vehicles........now theres a thought.

Why doesnt CEC have an age policy of first license? That would sort out a few things.
