Its getting to that time again when the taxman comes begging, and wants some of your hard earned.

So I will be writing a nice letter to him
Dear Sir, I have received your begging letter requiring me to pay X amount by close of play on the 31st.
I am sorry I will have to decline your offer as your neighbour the VAT man has already cleaned me out, along with that con man the chancellor, by putting duty and VAT up on fuel and everything else I need for the car.
So if you want payment go next door and take it out of his wad as I am now skint and qualify for your soon to be given away £26,000 PA

Yours the very poor man

Did mine yesterday but its not so much the paying up as getting the actual return in. Although I do wish the IR would stop punishing those that do and concentrate on those that don't there are drivers round here that haven't paid a penny in tax or NI in 15 years as well as the ones that always put a false set of books in and boast about only paying £100 a year tax !!! But they expect schools to be provided for their kids and all the other government services as well !!

Sent the cheque last week, but your Thread prompted me to re-read the Covering Letter that came from my Accountant.

I need to get the "Signed" paperwork to him before he can file the figures. So, I shall be tapping on his door later this afternoon.

Thank you for your reminder.

I did mine 3 months ago. It was a good job I did because my profits had gone up quite a bit and I had more tax to pay than I thought so at least I have spread this over the last 3 months. If I had left it, I could have been in the brown smelly stuff next week.

Mine was well down final figure was under £11000 but should be back up to £15000 this year so my tax was a lot lower I have overpaid a bit though and given them about the same as normal to balance out across the years

To be honest if I was working 70 hours every week of the year I'd either be in an institution by now or six feet under.

Mine was low, higher fuel, a few too many repairs, less trade, increased personal allowances = shame....
