Look if you can earn, say, £100 at a cost of £15, then surely that's better than £50 at a cost of £0?

In other words f*** what you pay out, it's what's left after you pay out that really matters.

i think £100 would be optomistic although a 1.5 mile taxi showed a fare of £4.50 yesterday, wearing my badge got me a freebie....lol

Yeah right a really slow day today spent lots of time between phone jobs at our official rank most of the companies were unofficially ranking up in the square i picked up a total of 0 jobs during a 12 hour shift

Spent the rest of the day fighting very heavy traffic 4x4's pulling across into the middle of the road to block it and then when I got a descent job off the phones (£30) couldn't get into the driveway of the place to drop her off for film crews no wonder the licence fees are so high I counted over 30 cars plus 2 camera vans crammed into the little country lane whatever happened to the days of just a cameraman and a reporter feel sorry for the customer though kept up all night by police helicopters and search teams and now invaded by tv crew all because of a tragic accident in their lake attached to the farm

Sorry bad day I'm starting to sound like doom

Don't worry I'm teetotal I think in the last 2 years I have had the equivalent of 2 pints of beer you never know when you might have to jump in your car because something has gone wrong or the night drivers have taken an extra early booking so can't touch the stuff and don't like it much anyway

Whilst I appreciate that there are lots of people struggling without work there are far more struggling that have jobs and they are the ones that taxi drivers are loosing as customers. They are the sensible ones who have always considered a taxi as a bit of luxury and a night out as treat. Unlike some of our unemployed who think a taxi is a necessity and a night out is god given right  Thank f*** for the dolites or trade would be even more grim

Think youll find that the vast majority of taxi customers are from the lower end of the pay/work scale.Whatever someone does its the same to me , they pay the same fare .As i said before i count myself lucky to have a job.
