I filled up both my cars to the gunnels with Diesel at £136.9 just in case of a fuel price hike or a potential shortage....I know it makes little differance in the grand scale of things but at least it made me feel a wee bit better for a wee while longer

You must have a big tank

But 136.9p seems very cheap for a rural area?

136.9 pence currently at our local Sainsburys that should have read, that said..to fill the people carrier right up from empty would cost nearly £110.00

Speaking to someone in the car trade, who has a bit of knowledge.

And he says their are between 10-15% fewer vehicles on the road, compared with 5 years ago, which does beg the question as top why fuel is so high.

as the supply is being tampered with and also it is common knowledge that crude oil always peaks in colder months . But the main question you need to ask is, if you had a choice of selling 10L of crude oil for $1000 or $2000 I know what I would pick, want to rise the price of crude oil, simple - reduce the supply.

if overall sales are down they have to jack up the price to maintain share dividend payouts

Iran isnt gonna sell to the UK or France cos "EUROPE" is going to be nasty to them

Why just us and the froggies?

It was on the BBC news on Friday that all the fuel suppliers are to be investigated by the department for fair trading, and they have no excuse for the rises over the last few months.
Hopefully vehicle manufactures will fight back once they realise they are loosing out on sales due to the fuel prices, and introduce vehicles that can go 1000 miles on a litre of water
Alegidly there are already some that have

137.9 unleaded 144.9 diesel in the Borders now, still 139.7 at asda

instead of BHP and MPH (and 0-60 in minus 3 seconds) id go for 100mpg, but i reckon its one of the biggest conspiracies ever, forget rupert murdoch, if it ever comes out that the car builders and the oil companies conspired to keep 40mpg cars using £7/gallon fuel instead of 100mpg cars using £5/gallon fuel someone should be strung up

its almost beyond belief that there are the petrol/diesel car is still your only real choice (with some LPG thrown in), no USEABLE electric or alternative fuel on offer, ethanol, methanol, hydrogen.........just same old, same old
