William Hunter, 61, told his wife Melanie that his fellow cabbies liked the photos and claimed one wanted her phone number.
On Monday, Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court heard he also sent her a text message on her birthday saying he "hoped it was her last".
The court heard Hunter came home from driving his taxi one day to find Melanie, his partner of 15 years, and wife of five years, had left without explanation. According to Hunter's solicitor she had taken all their savings.
Hunter then snapped, bombarding Melanie with abusive texts and emails, which included a picture of her in her pants.
Lesley Sharp, prosecuting, said: "One of the emails read: 'Thought you'd like to see one of my new screensavers. I couldn't send the others. They're a bit rude if you remember'."
The depute fiscal said Mrs Hunter was "upset" by the email.
Ms Sharp said: "She later received another from the accused, which read: 'Sorry you didn't like the picture I sent you. All the taxi drivers on the rank seemed to like them. One of them wanted your phone number. Should I give it to him?'"
The court heard when Melanie was celebrating her birthday later that year, she received a text from her former husband.
It read: "It's your birthday. I hope it's your last, you evil grasping skanky little b****."
The court heard Mrs Hunter told police she noticed her ex-husband parked outside the front entrance as she was attending an exercise class at the Fife Institute of Physical and Recreational Education.
She was left frightened by his behaviour and thought he had "no other purpose of being there" other than to see her. She later contacted police, and he was arrested.
Hunter, from Glenrothes, Fife pleaded guilty that between July 15 and August 15, 2011 at Beechwood Avenue and the Fife Insitute of Physical and Recreational Education, both in Glenrothes, he did engage in a course of conduct which caused fear and alarm to Melanie.
He admitted repeatedly waiting outside the Fife Institute of Physical and Recreational Education in his car and repeatedly sending Mrs Hunter text messages, emails and a picture.
His pleas of not guilty to repeatedly staring at her in his car, repeatedly following her in his car, and shouting and swearing and banging on her door were accepted.
His solicitor Caroline McCallum told the court Hunter had not been aware of any serious problems in his marriage when his wife left him. She said Hunter had been left "virtually destitute" after she left, as he said his wife had taken all their savings on the day she moved out.
Ms McCallym added that Hunter was worried about losing his taxi licence following any conviction, and he had not contacted his wife since she called the police.
Sheriff Pamela Bowman deferred sentence on Hunter for a year for him to show if he can be of good behaviour.
