while we have to buy petrol or diesel, with no real alternative power sources we are stuffed

when cars dont need petrol/diesel i bet it will get cheaper...

that some garages were struggling with price signs that struggled to adjust from 99p litre to 100p litre (ie from 2 digit to 3 digit) plus the .9 bit-i hate filling up with a passion,i dont smoke, dont drink too much apart from lager and wine BUT they get me with fuel-robbing b@@@@@DS

i lived in snowdonia and knew a guy bought a garage with a bungalow and small yard where he wanted to do his salvage/damaged car business, the forecourt/pumps were a nusiance, he paid £90,000 for the place

then he had a visit from a major oil company rep who, upon checking his fuel sales, offered hima three year £80K deal to use thier fuels and rebrand the forecourt, branded garages have mainly taken the bung instead of making more per ltr buying their own supplies on the spot market

Hydrogen fuel cells only needs water and electric to split H2O into hydrogen and oxygen

Probably why they're taking so long to reach the market.

They won't release them yet in fact I can't see them hitting the market in our lifetime.

Not while there's fuel to tax.

If you have any belief in conspiracy theories try this

HMG get 80% of what you pay per litre
Oil companies make Billions of pounds per year (plus HMG then tax that too)
Car manufacturers are also IC engine builders

None of the three have any real interest in 100mpg IC cars or worse still, non-IC cars like leccy or true hybrids (with no IC engine)

A world without IC engined cars would cause chaos to HMG's income, Oil company shares and render engine plants redundant (electic motors dont need castings or major machine operations like milling/boring/surface grinding, and are already produced)

I can bet that true non-IC are already built and ready, but we wont get them till "they" are ready

I do have one conspiracy theory of my own though. Have you noticed that the time when the forecourts put their prices up the most is just before the budget?
