When I replaced the radio in my cab, I cut off the plug that was already there and wired in an ISO car radio plug. You can buy them from Halfords. Installing a radio can be difficult if you're not sure what you're doing and if you wire it up without any fuses, you could cause a fire. I'll be comprehensive because I am bored at the moment and also I don't know how much you may already know...
The ignition switch for the cab doesn't have an ACC position, just on or off. The cab's factory supply for the radio is always live. This means that you have to remember to switch the radio off as it will remain on when you remove the key.
1. Before you cut off the old radio plug, find out which wire is the power supply. Put a volt meter from the wire you are testing to earth (any unpainted metal part of the body will do). Once you have found the live wire, leave the volt meter connedted and take out the fuse for the radio (C6 I think) If the voltage drops to 0 then that is the correct live supply. If memory serves, the mains wire for the radio is Pink.
2. Disconnect the battery and then cut off the plug.
3. I installed 6" speakers in the bottom forward part of the door cards because the factory speakers in the dash were crap. If you use new speakers in the doors, you will need to run new speaker wire to the new radio plug; use the same route as the rest of the door wires. If you use the old speakers, confirm the polarity of the speaker wires already in place. I also installed a pair of rear speakers in the parcel shelf; a difficult job as the parcel shelf is made of metal. The wires for these speakers can easily be run tidily to the radio, making sure they won't chafe against anything on the way.
4. Find which wire from the plug is the ground by using the 'beep' function on the multimeter.
5. You should now have 10 wires ready to connect to the ISO plug; a mains suply, and earth connection and 8 speaker wires. You will notice the ISO connector has more. In the cab, you will not need the blue/white wire. Make sure this is well insulated. The Orange wire can be connected to the headlight circuit although on my cab, I left it unconnected. The Orange wire will sense when the headlights are on and will dim the display. The Yellow wire and the red wire can be entwined together as in the cab, there is no ACC setting.
6. Connect the ISO plug as per the instructions. To connect wires, use a soldering iron and plastic heat shrink sleaves to make a nice permanent connection. Any unused wires should be well insulated.
7. The radio can now be connected to the car and placed into the radio hole using the radio chassis fitting.
Any other Q's just ask. If you feel unsure that you can do the job safely, just get a radio shop to do it for you
