Whose whistling it?

I think wars only have losers.....some lose more than others....but nobody wins in the end.

Gus, those are the finest words I think I've ever read from you mate, you are absolutely correct, and what do we fight for, political figures arguements, lets see Blair come on tour to Afghanistan, see how long it takes before his white flag is waving, and if anyone wants proof watch Return to the Falklands, ITV doc, you'll see two men who tried to kill each other 30 years ago sit and talk like human beings about how it was, take Thatcher and the Junta away and it would never have happened, now it looks odds on for a re-match where some more Argie kids can get thrown into a warzone because yet again a money man wants his cut of the spoils, they had thousands of years to claim the Islands, why now, oil that's why, only since the use of petrolium has the Islands become an issue.

He who starts a war should fight in that war, that's what King Harold & Co used do, no wonder gangs roam around, if the top sends the my stick message then don't be surprised if the lower league adopts the same tactics.

Maybe there arent total 100% unscathed winners, but there are victors, and wheras we were magnanimous in victory and generally forgiving, can you imagine what this world would be like if we hadnt come out on top?

Imagine for a while if Hitler, Mussolini and Hirohito had been victorious.....

Well, (although my books would sell much better, mind you) I surely wouldn´t wanted Hitler to be victorious, yet it is very unlikely there would have World War 2, if the winners of World War I hadn´t been so stupid and unforgiving, all Hitler needed for his upcoming was to play the card of the infamous Versaille peace-treaty, time and time again.

Besides, imagine Wannabeeahack coming to Berlin HCO being discriminated about his license, and oh, would zey have vays of handeling zose problems...! Hahaha!

at Doom: no German would say "zoo" instead of you, for the "y" is pronounced the same way. They would only pronounce "you" in a more "yoo" manner, very guttural, whereas a Brit (especially in the South) would almost say "yee", pushing the jaw forward and nasalising the vowel.

OMG Jochen, thank you at last someone who sees further than his nose, the carving up of Germany after WW1 can't have helped, nor could the abuse of skint German's by the sex industry in the 20's, ppl forget this and only see Mr Nasty on his world domination program, Jews could've been a bit more charitable at the time, but they weren't and the hate brewed up.

All very familiar with todays world, it's what happens when a small number hog the lot, and a large number have nothing, I'm not excusing the things that happened, but I see the reason's, I doubt Hitler expected Poland to fall so easily, then he had too many mouths to feed and had re-aquired all the Jews he'd bannished from Germany all over again, so the answer from an unstable committe is the concentration camps and the rest is history.

I see so many lesson's in man through that war, I see a man who started off wanting to restore a great nation to respect lose the plot and go too far, I also believe he was a drug addict as well so that would not have helped one bit, had he stayed on the path and got the German part of Poland back through negotiation and simply made Germany a country that would be difficult to invade or take liberties in, he would be remembered in a far better light.

And lets not forget, while the west was at war destroying itself, it set itself back 100 years, time that other creeds have used to their advantage and will in future soar past us and be the big players of the world, which will in turn cause another war.

Yep.

About Angela (Angie (as in "don´t you weep...") as is her nick-name actually in Germany, for we are so colonised): well, we share the dislike. But, for me, that doesn´t make Cameron one bit more sympathetic!.

PS: No problems with the server anymore! (Small wonder, when you look where I am now.)

According to my computer the queen can trace her lineage back to Alfred the great.
