to be fair it probably would have happened anyway but he certainly made sure. The thing is now that the extra cash in the petrol retailers tills will probably enable them to get in a bit extra so when the real strike does go ahead it might take longer for pumps to run dry

TBH I think they're profiteering now.....derv went up 3p per litre in 24hrs here.

If petrol retailers want a little bit of advice....they should perhaps stop selling bags of potatoes and barby stuff.

I have just filled up for tommorow. No queue to fill up. Just a massive queue because all the traffic is being diverted from Grantham through here! :x There was a tanker delivering fuel whilst I was there. One garage in town has increased their price by 4p per litre. No queue there either.

let me guess the A1 closed again because of another accident ?I will check out our prices later but I suspect it's not so much the petrol stations as the refineries jacking the price up so they can afford to offer the drivers more money

@4p a litre, they will be able to give the drivers a £1million rise and still have change.

Anyway, the refineries don't pay the drivers......and if you were right, the petrol stations would all be charging more...around here, it's only a few doing it.

Once everyone has got their Tank topped up ~ things will return, more or less, to normal.

The main difference being that everyone will be driving around with full tanks rather than, "just sufficient for the next few days", which is how most of the world functions during normal times.

All this might lead to thieves going out tonight on the rob knowing people have topped up their cars.

they'd steal it anyway...they wont know until they start stealing how much fuels in any given fuel tank.

First they,ll go out and start stealing fuel transfer pumps...I had a few of those knicked when I supplied agri machinery parts.

Yes hopefully eventually, though could be slightly worse today, and next few days or so as most people will get paid today (last Friday/working day of the month), and can therefore afford to top up their tanks.
