what would your meter (hack) ring up for a daytime 17.5 mile fare for 4 passengers (out at 7pm, back at 10pm)

Glad I don't work where you do pops, £26 are you jesting, the fuel is £7 per run and then there's the rest of the costs like car etc.

Our rates have not changed for nealy 4 years now. Mind you our fuel costs are a lot lower than you state. Our cars do over 50 mpg.
The metered rate here is £2.50 for the first half mile and then £1.40 per mile.

Four passengers 17.5 miles = T1 £33, T2 £45 approx. Based on (metered) mileage only.
Would probably do a run like that on a fixed fare if asked, T1 £25, T2 £35.

im surprised how many get T2 at only 10pm, thought it was midnight generally

i quoted £20 each way, but hadnt checked the mileage and punter said it was 14 miles, which it COULD be along every rat run known to man, ifshe rings back shes got a shock coming, im the only PH here, all the rest ahve 8-10 dead miles to pickup

£30 each way/£60 return sounds good, ill stop there and save half the fuel, have a bag of chips and a nap
