The following was sent to me recently:
Did you know that recent government legislation changing the freedom of information acts gives you access to speed camera offences registered within the last 12 months and placed on a accessible website.

Did you know that everytime you go even a mile or so over the speed limit, it is registered and placed on the database.

They only send a ticket if you are way over or (and heres the rub )

If you receive over 20 near misses") You can now check how many you have via your vehicles registration number

Check this page [Link removed by TDO]

It will ask you for a password/`link and you`ll be given one in a pop up window.

In the top right hand corner there is a `click on` window and it even shows the picture taken by the camera...i have tried it but without success...at the moment but i will keep trying

The reason why you can't get any response Cabby is because its a scam. I would check your pc for spyware or trojans just in case you clicked on something you shouldn't.

Since this looks like a scam the link has been removed, but the post has been left up in case readers see it elsewhere and don't realise it's a scam.

Well the message was such an obvious pile of cack that I didn't even bother looking at the link, but since JD said it might be a scam I took his work for it.

The comment of a scam was made in good faith after researching the website's credentials. I wasn't aware it was a joke but on the other hand what is sometimes portrayed on the internet as a joke, is more often than not designed to either harvest information, install spyware or something even more sinister.

I think its best to forewarn subscribers of a potential hazard rather than have them regret it at some later stage. Sorry your joke was shortlived.

Regards

JD

If it's just a joke then please post the link again and I'll put it back.

The message you posted lacked credibility so I suspected that it wasn't genuine, and to that extent I wouldn't click on a link like that.

After reading JD's post I thought it better to delete the link, and did this in good faith to protect readers of this forum.

Sadly many so-called jokes on the internet can have disastourous consequences for those taken in by them.
