That's a lot of guessing, do we have any evidence to support either argument?

40+ years of oil revenues not enough for you?

I don't here the Welsh wanting anything other that continued English rule. That's their choice.
The remaining coal (and I'm told there's plenty of it) is theirs should they choose independence.

We don't want back the oil thats been extracted. That's gone and the revenues with it, to hold up a bankrupt union.
We just want what is ours and is not yours - the remaining oil which has yet to be extracted.
Very little of it is English, so you get over it.

Lots of well paid jobs?
Yes, and a great many of them filled by guys who can't get employment in their naitive towns in England's north east and midlands.
As for the Aberdeen Red light trade, I bow to your superior knowledge.
It is well known as a haunt for long distance lorry drivers/ white van men. The oil workers aren't here that long.
The hookers are mostly English as well.

BTW Do you need to practice being a tw4t or does it come naturally?

According to the Sunday press, over 4000 hauliers could go on strike along with the tanker drivers, and if the Government use army drivers every refinery motorway and food depots like Tesco and Asda will also be blocked
Haulage companies have had enough as more and more are going bust due to the price of fuel, they want the price of diesel back down to £1.10 and wont give up until it is, they have said that they will get this Government thrown out if need be
Grangemouth has already seen small protests over the last few weeks in readiness for the big one
They will be using the mobile networks email and FB to organise things

Now what did I do with my steel topy

Sadly it's come to this, but there is a solution, remove the toffee in Number 11 and replace him with someone who knows a bit about economics and gardening.

HMG (whichever) wont do uk hauliers any favours, Blairs goverment was going to introduce a "Port tax disc" for incoming european trucks (who were on french diesel and set about working for SFA) as UK trucks were being charged on French toll roads, this "tax disc" (our trucks here can pay £2000/year road tax) was supposed be a leveller, it never happened though

dont forget

"If youve got it, a truck brought it"

some gardener

Quote:
Over five years, Mr Miliband spent just under £30,000 on repairs, decoration and furnishings for his £120,000 home in South Shields.

On at least one occasion, he exceeded the maximum allowable amount and had his claim cut back. Mr Miliband, the current Foreign Secretary, spent up to £180 every three months on his garden, prompting his own gardener at one point to ask whether all the work was required.

In April 2008, on the bottom of a receipt for £132.96, the gardener wrote: “Please let me know if you would like pots making up at front and back this year, given the relatively short time you’ll be here and their labour-intensive nature.”
Under the rules, MPs may claim for basic garden maintenance, but not: “plants, shrubs, flowers, hanging baskets or other decorations

I think you'll find that's correct, and it probably originated in Turkey/Mesopotamia
