You'll be pleased to note that wee emperor eck wants Scotland to be more like Norway....perhaps the only country in Europe with higher fuel costs than the UK;

Country...............Unleaded 95...........Diesel...........LPG LPG

United Kingdom.....€ 1,758................€ 1,806..........€ 1,023
Norway................€ 2,071...............€ 1,881...........€ 0,893

FFS..I thought he wanted us to be more like Quatar...or Ireland....or anywhere except England!!

I wish he would make his Feckin little Eckin mind up. #-o

It's still got to be less than buying that bottled water shit each week at the supermarkets.

In Scotland, we pay a fixed charge for water, regardless of usage.

In effect, tap water costs nothing since the water charges are the same, whether I drink it or not.

That bottled stuff isn't as nice anyway.

BTW Aberdeen has some of the softest water in Britain. No limescale. :D

Nope.
We pay for being connected, not for usage.

No hosepipe bans either. :D

Depends how you look at it.

If I didn't drink any, I'd still be paying the charge to flush the bog.
The amount of the charge is irrelevant.
It's collected with the council tax

The comparison was for bottled water anyway and as with anything if you don't use it you don't pay for it therefore the cost is irrelevant. The point being made was that although the wages are higher in Norway the cost of living is much higher. Is that what you would like for Scotland

The comparison was for bottled water v tap water.
I would be paying for tap water, whether I used it or not.
There is no "cost free" option, as not having any water supply at all, is no option.

Actually, the point is that Norway is a country with a smaller population than Scotland.
It manages just fine without having it's neighbours run it.

Now, you put that as if the higher cost of living outweighs their higher wages.
Is that true or is that just an assumption on your part?

Why do things cost more in Norway?
Do you know? or are you just assuming the same would happen here?

Someone pointed out that a pint of beer in Norway would cost £6.
How much would a pint cost here if the price had increased at the same rate as cigarettes over the last 20 years?
