I dont think anyone apart from gbc has suggested that?

CC

doom for example

"Hmmmm, does Mr Griffin know why it's called a BUS LANE?"

you for example

"They can have equal access.....just drive a licensed taxi :D "

Well, my advice was one route.....so to speak.

It could well transpire that in order to sort this mess out, and additional 60,000 vehicles using bus lanes could be considered too much of a risk...and threat to the operation of the public transport system....therefore nobody gets in.

It could well transpire that the PH operators, but fighting against DSA tests have shot themselves in the foot.

It could well transpire that Addison Lee lose there operators license.

It could well transpire the law commission come up with something.

lots of suggestions....apart from your reasons why they'll win?

I'm not a betting man, but if I was I would gladly take your bet.

Addison Lee might win the case, in fact I think Euro Law is on their side, but this will lead to TfL merely banning both taxi and PH from the bus lanes.

Griffen doesn't want access to the bus lanes, they're already choc a bloc with roadworks, vans unloading, taxis, bikes, motorbikes . . .

He wants taxis out.

However we fight back, they're not taxis, and we do a very different job to a privately booked journey with a fixed price, compared to a public hire on a meter with a driver who knows where he's going, drives a wheelchair accessible taxi, and needs to constantly pick up and set down at the kerb.
Simplifying it to 'we both take passengers from a to b' doesn't wash, so does a private car, so does a van . . .

Luckily he's also upset many senior figures within TFL and the Police, now they are fighting back, Griffen may well find himself minus a license, he may be big, but he ain't bigger than the authorities.

I've no problem with him taking it to court, anyone can do so, but to tell his drivers to break the law is simply taking the [edited by admin].

What's next? Have a drink? Don't worry about drink drive laws, they don't apply to us at Addison lee.

We're not the only one hoping he fails, lots of other minicab operators are getting sick of his dominance in the minicab trade, and his strive for a monopoly on private hirings in London.

I've been monitoring the 350 london cabbies that I follow today on twitter, and between them no one seems to have seen one Addison Lee car illegally using a bus lane.

Griffin came on the local BBC news and took a trip on Marylebone Rd for 200 yds, but that seems to have been it.

Maybe the drivers do value their ph licenses over their bosses ego and belligerence?

I'm pretty mellow on Terry, I think he would prefer negotiations tbh, and also he's been on about this before (from memory) but I aint spoken to the guy for ages.....and seeing as his footy team got beat tonight he's probably drowing his sorrows.....I couldnt see him taking the side of the operator.....but doing his best to defend his members.

Yep.

I'll shock you further by telling you it's the RMT taxi branch.

Long story, but the key players are all part of TLC , tweetalondoncab, and to be honest the branch is quite impressive with its fight and passion for the trade.

So I'm giving it a chance, that's all I can do.

Now where's my Che Guerva t-shirt gone. :D
