Somone said that to me some years ago, I asked the base op if I could knock off? He said yeah no problem but will you do me this one last job it's going past the end of your street? I said yes no problems, I got outside and the punters came out with some luggage, I thought "mmm they are going to the bus station." I loaded up and they got in the motor, I asked them where they were off to? "Birmingham Airport please was the reply." When I shouted my number the base op was pissing himself laughing.

I was out of favour with the base so got sent to sit nearer an area we got work from sometimes but was out of our LA, everyone knew that this night (fridays) was better back on our rank, after 2 hours with no job i drove back and sat on the rank, did a few jobs, the base op saw me and came out to ask if my radio was working

i said no, and handed it to her thru .................

I also had 1 cow of a base op give me a wrong street name (we had a ****** street and ****** grove in the same town, same name), and she was laughing later about it

2 weeks later she was cowering behind the desk as another driver tried kicking the (locked) office door in cos she had upset him too

20 years ago before I started running my own firm I worked for a company where the mum did the phones saturday night BUT there was always a TV on in the office. Very often drivers would just get silence at the end of the radio then be sent late on jobs. One time I shouted clear 3 times so went to the rank picked up a job shouted it through only to have the stupid old bat demand I throw the punters out and proceed to a job which we were already 5 minutes late on ! I refused and finished the job (only a short one anyway) then went to the job. Later on I got called to the office to be given a rollicking after asking why my 3 calls clear had been ignored I was told that she was busy watching Michael Barrymore and hadn't heard me and was told that I should have just parked up for 15 minutes till she got round to calling the job through.

Cowboys !

well we gave him a second chance and things did improve a little till today !!!!!!

10am he upset one of the other drivers by jumping in on the radio and insisting the order cars cleared in was wrong so the car who should have been next for a job went home he then really got my goat at lunchtime by shouting over the top of a driver that I had called preventing me from despatching the car on a job so i switched the radio off for 10 minutes then sent him a message to meet me down the railway station to talk things through. he turned up at the station nearly rammed my car came over to the window and started angrily insisting he had done no wrong I asked him to listen to me but to no avail I waved my finger at him telling him to listen to me instead of jumping down my throat at which point he grabbed my fingers bent them right back and put me in hospital. The police have decided that no charges can be pressed as that counts as self defence !!!!

So I am off the road he has thrown his radio out of the car and probably broken that and in law has done nothing wrong the only thing I can do is go to a no win no fee solicitor and sue him in a civil court

Very Bad day today
