Taxi driver attacked and robbed

(UKPA) – 18 hours ago

A taxi driver was subjected to a "frightening" attack by two of his customers, police said.

He was left with injuries to his face after being attacked with a sharp object by two teenagers in the East End of Glasgow.

They also robbed him.

The 45 year-old was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment and later released.

Strathclyde police are looking for witnesses to the attack, which happened at around 4am on Saturday morning.

The driver was dropping the two men, aged around 18, at a property in Lochend Road, Easterhouse when they attacked him.

The men were wearing light coloured trousers, with the first dressed in a dark hoody and the second in a light blue polo shirt.

The had been picked up from a footpath outside property in Greenfield Road, Sprinboig.

Detective Sergeant John Semple said: "This was a very frightening attack on this man in the early hours of the morning. I would like to appeal to anyone who may know the men who carried out this horrific attack or indeed anyone who saw two men fitting the description of the suspects in the vicinity of Lochend Road".

Nice to hear the guys ok and it isnt serious but as usual these Scrooges will get say scot free.

I'd bet substantial sums that the radio base didn't take a contact number when taking the job Which could have made tracing these scum a lot easier
