maximum age for a 1st grant/new plate = 3 years

but if replacing a plated vehicle its 5 years

North Warwickshire Borough Council

whats the difference? (apart from the 2 years)

New proprietor 3 years max, same proprietor new vehicle 5 years.

Now that's why the Law Commission are doing what they are doing.

its just typical of the region-by-region [edited by admin] LA rule making dedicated to making them feel important and making it look like they have important work to do (when most of its just paper/pen pushing)

speaking again to the same LA, the 3 year/1st plate is for new grants, if its a replacement car the maximum age is 5 yrs but if its an additional car its 3 years, but theres no maximum age it can be plated till, so one plated it carries on so long as its fit for purpose, and theres no 4 month plates or age exemption
