Spoke to a dozen or so E7 drivers in the last few weeks as im thinking of trading in and EACH and every one claim that it's running about 19-20p a mile which equates to about 31 mpg at £6.25 for a gallon (£1.38 litre)

Which is also about 30% saving on my tx2 auto which is running about 28p a mile at the moment so I could be trading in round test time

Well if thats the case those who do buy a new TX or Vito in London will get hammered, or anyone who buys a vehicle as a cab for that matter
Anyone got an idea of how much relief we are going to loose

As I understand it , it has been replaced with a Capital Investment Allowance which still allows you to claim for the cost of a new vehicle.

More on this subject here in an older post http://www.taxi-driver.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=13263

Was speaking to my accountant today and he saints better getting the 18-20% tax relief each year rather than the 100% because in 5 years time when you come to sell it on/trade in your hit with tax for the money you'll get from it. Eg. 5 years time a 26k e7, you sell for 10k. You'll need to pay tax on that 10k but if you pay tax on the interest yearly your not hit with the big tax when you sell it

WoW and hey double WoW :D

Yesterday was my first full shift in the E7 Auto SE and what a drive 8) Total Milage was 175 miles, 29 litres of fuel used, cost £39.50, overall MPG i think was around or just below the 30 mark, a third better than my Metro, Fueled up twice, first at 95 miles with a fair amount of obstruvtive traffic, idiling etc, £23.50, second time, 80 miles, £16.50, not much obstructive traffic, less idiling etc, Overall a saving of around £12.50 on my shift, i know i wont be doing that milage everyday but to get a true reflextion and feel for the motor i put in a big shift, i must say i never noticed or it didn't bother me much the loss of the turning circle as overall driving the new E7 Auto Se was a lot less work on the brain, an enjoyable drive :D, Long term issues may arise but i will take them as they come along, as a single shifter i don't expect too much trouble, the E7 Auto SE is highly recommended alternative to my old Metro or say the more expensive M8, the TX has its problems but i accept its more iconic than the E7 or M8.

Just my opinion though

Bought/ordered the New E7 Auto

I took one for a test drive last week.... Got the MPG up on the computer whilst driving it and it frightened me to death.

I will be very interested to see what "real" figures can be obtained out the streets.

It did drive really nice though.
Whats the pay load on the pug Reggie ?
