And the top of the pile for me has to be;

And did those feet in ancient time.
Walk upon England's mountains green:
And was the holy Lamb of God,
On England's pleasant pastures seen!

And did the Countenance Divine,
Shine forth upon our clouded hills?
And was Jerusalem builded here,
Among these dark Satanic Mills?

Bring me my Bow of burning gold;
Bring me my Arrows of desire:
Bring me my Spear: O clouds unfold!
Bring me my Chariot of fire!

I will not cease from Mental Fight,
Nor shall my Sword sleep in my hand:
Till we have built Jerusalem,
In England's green & pleasant Land

Nothing like a football crowd to murder a tune....

Just remind us, with these fantastic, inspirational, blood moving anthems that the Scottish, and Welsh have, where are they when it comes to major competition finals?
Ours sees us through just fine thank you.

Well now that you have asked, a nation with a population of just over 3 million trounced a nation in excess of 50 million for the grand slam of rugby last season. The Scottish just like ourselves do not have the numbers to compete - if we did it would be a walk over every year :p

I guess I new that I would upset someone, which was not the intention.

England must rank alongside Spain as being amongst the biggest underachievers in the football world - I hate to say it, but does 1966 ring a bell?

It is only now that people are saying that under their new manager that they are starting to sing their national anthem with words that are not difficult to remember!! which clearly demonstrates a lack of passion of which I must say is understandable from a very uninspiring tune.

The English players on more than one occasion have been accused of NOT showing enough passion for the jersey/shirt! I think that it would be a good idea to try and get inside their hearts, to make them really want to play until they drop - there is just not enough guts in a side that is prepared to come away satisfied with a draw - having taken football to the world.

Are Tottenham Hotspur for real?

They sack the manager because they finished fourth in the Premiership last season, but Lewis and Levy wanted a second place finish, FFS!!!

Harry did not show loyalty to the Spurs.

They were no doubt paying him a fortune and they stood by him during his health and tax problems - instead of showing his gratitude, he was prepared to dump them for more of me me me, which cost them the precious points that would have sealed their Champions League qualification - it serves the greedy sod right.

What's the betting that they don't finish anywhere near the top four places next season, no matter who the new manager will be?

It won't be his performance that has led to the sacking, I expect Levy has checked the balance sheet and seen that Spurs now have an unmanageable debt, Harry isn't the be all and end all ppl think he is, if you scratch the surface you'll probably find Spurs now have enough players to field 6 teams at a time and the lowest earner is on £40k pw, he'll also have a tie in in all their contracts for bonuses and kick backs,

Sorry to shatter an illusion but Harry has many flaws and isn't a great as he appears to be, he drops players who are at the top of their game simply because they argued with him over something, watch this for proof, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BBwjeW3sFXw Harry says.....that's why that player is in the reserves, but the bottom line is he picked him out inch perfect so to leave a player out who can place a ball from distance just says it all tbh, the player who kicked it was Mark Burchill, and at the time Harry had the hump with him over something, back then he was basically the Scottish Michael Owen so Harry left him to rot.

The LICKSPITTLES DIRGE is the name for that pathetic English nonsense you will note many players adamantly refused to sing it as they are republicans Gary Nevile for one good on him.

The best anthem the Soldiers Song for the Republic of Ireland :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

That explains everything, you a Gooner, a good club with a good manager and some good players, but lousy fans who don't appreciate a club that isn't up to it's neck in it but doesn't win trophies anymore, Gooner fans tend to be the 12th man for the other side imo.

I believe your team is your team normally the closest as to where you live nothing gets me goat more than GLORY SEEKERS Man U supporters from Yeovil FFS I know its hard if your local outfit is crap but rest assured the gunners have been occasionally!

I remember United being relegated and the SCUM great days :D

I admire people who support the local team!

I even went to Carlisle once and they had a good support dont know if the Capt was about??

Wenger probably past his sell by date by now as for RVP you want to go then eff off your shout!!

I'm not questioning your loyalty to the club, I'm saying as a football man myself Gooner fans have a higher expectation than they should have and see 4th place in a purchased league as a bad thing, when it's actually outstanding, those days of George Graham and Pat Jennings are gone, it's another world now.

I would agree with you on that unless they recruit the German national team in which case they'll walk the premier league can't see anyone beating them in this tournament absolutely no weaknesses

You're right about Spuds chances next season, however expect to see some names leave the club soon to trim the wage bill, Levy is correct to sack him, that's if he's been sacked at all, knowing him he's walked and the club is saving face, if you take Harry's pocket money away he walks out on you, ask Milan Mandaric.

well back to the OLD ENGLAND tonight a few flashes of brilliance from the pace players got us the result but not impressed they will have to play much better than that when they reach the knockout stages

This is a real outrage.

Their instruments were confiscated at the last match; perhaps they didn't get them back.

Pukka Pies will be even more p1$$ed off now!!!
