cheers guys thats what i thought i will check my policy out ,this is how the council have worded it
1) £5 million public liability insurance is required in respect of each and every claim
2)£10 million employers liability insurance is required in respect of each and every claim
as im not a employer but a sole trader and my reserve drivers are all hackney sole traders then i take it employers liability insurance is not needed
it seems after 11 yrs of doing school contracts and never letting them down once this does not count anymore ,fail this invitation to tender or if you dont meet the criteria you have had it ,hence im going over it with a fine toothcomb
your quite right..you Dont need employee Liability if you do not have Employees.
A lot of the things they probably ask are downloadable and easily tweaked to suit from the Internet.
Things Like, Environmental policy, Health And safety Policy and Maintenance policy etc...you'll can find something to doctor to suit your own needs...Honestly, Those thirty Odd pages are not so difficult to fill in if you think about it carefully. As Councils are new to it as well then you can pretty much make up your own policies on things simply because there is no recognisable benchmark...and putting down something in writing is better than nothing at all..
