All drivers are licensed by Aylesbury vale council but the vehicles are licensed by rutland county council.

If that's the case the why aren't the drivers being prosecuted? :?

I am surprised that they are licensed PH rutland plates I wasn't aware rutland licensed PH vehicles as all the Rutland taxis I know of are hackney Rutland being one district where meters are NOT required in Hackney vehicles.

Why go all the way to Rutland from Aylesbury vale to license a vehicle the difference in price must surely be swallowed up by the cost of fuel to get there and back for testing

The cost of a plate in Rutland is only £125 a year both for Hackney and PH and the test for a PH is only a standard MOT with a visual inspection by an LO

Berwick was never about the vehicles... it was about the fact the driver didn't have to take the knowledge test... and could be licensed straight away... is it the same here....

There is no knowledge test in Rutland for PH but there is for Hackney both badges cost £57 per year plus £50 for CRB

I must have misunderstood the other week when I spoke to the licensing department at Rutland. I was sure he told me that there was a knowledge test. I could have got it wrong though. Mind you, it is not a big place. You could learn it in less than a week. There is also no age limit on vehicles in Rutland.

I don't see the problem unless they are being used by an operator with a different license. Having said that if the LC have their way it won't matter and areas wishing for decent standards can whistle dixie
