More bull.

CTN and Taxi Talk are out now, and there's nothing in them.

Your only weapons are bluff and bull ie just on here to cause trouble.

Yes, but it the public get something out of it as well, and it doesn't allow the privileged minority in the trade to control the cars and thus milk working drivers.

The London trade also have thousands rather than hundreds of members, its therefore safe to presume that a number of drivers retire and so the actual numbers of drivers working probably remains constant year on year, I also think they may struggle if they allowed every minicab driver a badge.

Wrong, the numbers are growing in London because the market is growing and more are entering than retiring.

Indeed, this is what's happening in some restricted areas, because there's no limit on driver numbers and greedy plate holders don't bother how many they take on as long as they get their pound of flesh for the privilege.

Your arguments are unreliable, they are based entirely on the basis of personal greed.

No, that's the plate holders

Your statement about your mate being unable to make a living in a restricted market doesn't prove that by derestricting he would still be in a position to continue in the trade, quite the opposite in fact.

If he pays a fare rental or buys his own vehicle then surely he's in a better position than lining the pockets of plate holders for the right to work?

More real world proof that derestriction wrecks the industry and has massive financial implications on the normal working man.

Therein lies the difference between ye and me Mr Angel. You don't bother about the implications for the normal working man if he's lining the pockets of the abnormal working man.

Me, I'm concerned with all the working men.

That's the difference :D

Keep your crusade within the boundries of Sussex please.

I have told you before, on countless occasions in fact, the MAJORITY of plateholders in Gateshead are owner operators/drivers.

The person/business who holds the largest number of HC vehicles is a PH operator and his rental is more than double that which is charged by anyone else.

The average working man therefore is a plateholder, a plateholder who is finding it harder to make the money required to run his business to the high standards to which the public should be entitled.

Don't assume that because it happens in Eastbourne it happens everywhere else or vice versa.
