the decision as to which vehicles are accepted is to go before the comitee this thursday if they do decide to only accept e7,s tx11, metro cab then it could be brought in from this month its only a matter of adding a condition to any future applicants licence a few will moan that the others got fiats, eurobuses but the fiats, eurobuses say the same about the saloon owners it,s all about council policy at the time the plate is granted
the council haven,t to my knowledge given a reason for the change in policy but because they gave permission only twelve months ago and are now changing it sounds to me like they now know the fiats, eurobuses shouldn,t have been licenced in the first place the council will have two choices let the operators pay off their cabs ( five years finance for eurobuses) or pay them off for them

Do not think this would be feasible, still say that the only logically way, would be to give at least 3-4 years time limit for the vehicles that the council think, should not be doing wav work.
Still,should know soon.
Also Mr Young has not applied for his new saloons, this month or next????
Time running out???????.

the council comitte meeting today have decided that from apri 1st (tomorrow) only the three specified vehicles will now be accepted as wavs
the existing fiats, eurobuses, will be able to run them with no time limit but wont be able to replace them with a similar cab talking about time limits it used to be once you were granted a plate you had two weeks to get it on the road you could ask for a two week extension but after that the plate was cancelled i think these rules have now been relaxed do any other councils have time limits ?

the problem could be the courts dundee private hire won their plates as there was no survey in place at the time dundee,s waiting list stretched back 13 years there was no survey for most of it plus the council refused anyone a chance of a hearing bit of a legal minefield if you ask me

I think thats all bye-the-bye now.

Anyone could have applied for a plate and gotten a hearing as far as I know, but no one ever did it. I don't think the council actually refused anyone a hearing.

I think it was just when 203020 come on the go that they got lawyers to have a look at things and discovered that they could have a hearing if the submitted a form and turned up in front of the committee.

Since no one did that beforehand then even if there was no survey then there was nothing to appeal agains because there was no proper application.

Is there any evidence that the council refused to give anyone a hearing?

You were old told when the Council issued these plates last year that it would be the end of the Taxi industry in Dundee.

I know fancy drivers wanting to control their own destiny.

Much better if all the plates where controlled by the firms, or in the case of Dundee, the dead.

One of these days someone from the T&G will speak the odd word of sense. None of these days will it be you. :^o

Noticed that the three types of wheelchair accessible were, the TX11.E7 and the metrocab.
The latter has gone to the wall, three times I recall.
Dave Young only wants the TX11,s as he is now selling second hand ones out of the Marrs garage.
No doubt earning a pretty penny.
What about the Eurobus,Doblo and the Citreon that has been passed for the WAV market.
How can the council stop this?
Only way is for the council to legislate that the three EU type vehicles, will be the only ones that can be put on from say year 2009.
£23,550 plus for a new wav,lotta bucks lads. eusasmiles.zip

Nobody is twisting the licensing commitee in Dundee, just coincidence that 203020 in conjunction with the marrs garage, now sell 2nd hand TX11.
Low and behold, now law coming in tomorrow only Wavs to be put on in
Dundee are E7,s,Metrocab and yeeeeees wait for it,naw guess.
8) 8)

So what, sir, do you know about the taxi industry in Dundee?

Do you mean -

- the end of most of the taxi industry controlled by people like bus drivers, factory workers and driving instructors some of whom had never driven a taxi in their life and had paid nothing for plates?

- the end of people living abroad (like an ex-councillor) holding taxi plates while working drivers couldn't get them?

- the end of hundreds of plates being hired and the taxi being operated illegally and ininsured in an accident?

- do you mean drivers working for a couple of pounds an hour for these people and not being allowed to operate their own car?

And you seem to thing that the end of this is a bad thing.

The likes of you would have loved it in Dundee, but the likes of you are on the way out.

Would I be right in saying Paul that you are a plate holder in Dundee who isn't getting it quite all his own way these days?
