there are a good few taxis (wavs, connects ) working here ,some were bought from different sources but all passed m1 spec and were passed by council!
council now say only 1 source can sell these motors and the poor sods can not sell theirs on to another taxi driver ( what are they supposed to do with them now! )
any ideas what they should do?

Sounds overly-restrictive to me, what grounds are they giving for this?

Sounds a bit like what is happening in Dundee, clearly the saloon guys are bleating that the rules aren't stringent enough for the others.

think they messed up when passing some conversions!
say 3 conversions were passed, now only 1 is getting passed!
so drivers with conversions with other 2 can't sell on to other taxi drivers here!

So the no-sale rule applies only to the vehicles that they cocked-up on and not the new ones that pass the specification?

What is the single source that they are now specifying?

So presumably that's just for the conversions?

But if you bought an E7 or TX then it would be OK, or is the E7 classed as a conversion as well?

Here in Dundee the council have changed the goal posts yet again, now only three come up to spec,EU wise.
The E7,TX11 and wait for it THE METROCAB.

Maybe next month the council will again change their minds.

Paton,s TX11,Cab Direct E7,s and Metrocab down south(If they are still trading this week).
Alternative, friend Mr Young who is now selling second hand TX11,s and
wait for it Guaranteed Finance.(But at what per cent).
Repairs being done at the Marrs garage!!!!.
No clout,no,just coincidence.
The whole system with the council in this area stinks. 8)
Be happy Wav,it can only get better
