Depends what you've got running on your machine Trev, I'd try CC cleaner from piriform http://www.piriform.com/ download it and run it everyday.

Failing the above try some new memory, a 2gig memory card will cost about £12.00 and will take 2 minutes to fit.

It might be problems with your connection, can't you upgrade to Infinity?

So is mine, but I know the braodband is playing up at the moment.

In your case though Mr T, it's probably down to the speed of finger movement of the ageing user.

Mr T: The suggestion to run CCleaner is a good one, although running the Cleaner once a month should be sufficient, if you have an active Anti-virus program in place.

No need to spend any money there either. AVG Free is as good as they get. http://www.avg.com/gb-en/homepage.

I would also consider adding Malwarebytes to your armoury. Again Free, but you need to run the scans yourself. I run about once a month. http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_pro

Once you have done all that, a Defrag is the order of the day. If you haven't run one for quite a while, expect it to take all night. Windows has one, but it can be bettered, again for free. http://www.piriform.com/defraggler

Mr T - Some questions:

What Anti Virus are you running and is it the latest, or an older, version of the program? Is it's Database up-to-date and do you run it regularly?

What other Security Software do you have loaded onto the PC?

How full is your Hard Drive? 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, 7/8th.

Is the PC able to do most of the other Internet things?
