Yeah, and having seen both scenarios at close hand I can exclusively reveal that two-singled shifted cars don't represent twice one double-shifted car. :idea:

At least by any reasonable analysis, ie other than that employed by the likes of yourself and councillors in York. :D

At least the single double shifted car will be available for hire 24/7 more or less, however the 2 single shifted cars will be available at the same time but with different drivers

Well I'm sure that once we've gone round the block a hundred times you'll actually reveal something that'll be totally irrelevant :wink:

Not at all, we have reached an impasse - I disagree with your point - drivers work what and when suits them;

here's 6 cabs waiting to get on to an illegal 3 cab rank;

there were an additional 5 behind where the camera was

So with restrictions you've got drivers working 84 hours per week. More or less. Spoken like a true taxi baron, Toots. :-|

And with derestriction everyone's working at precisely the same time of day. ](*,)

Is that really how your derestricted PH sector works, Toots?

In Brum most of them don't have anywhere near enough work to keep them going now, FFS!!

Yes, looks like there's a space in front of you and you haven't moved up - no wonder they're queuing behind. :D

But anyway, you could take pictures of HCs overranking anywhere, so I'm not sure what precisely you're trying to prove here. :?

I could have moved up, or maybe a cab was in front of me when I parked up and got a radio call.

I'm maybe proving I got a phone with a camera.....I'm maybe proving that theres too many taxis.

Yes, the ranks are overflowing in my restricted area yet the mini-barons are still desparate to take on any driver with a badge, and the council hands out badges like confetti.

Can't see how it benefits anyone other than the parasites and profiteers [-(

So why are the barons in Liverpool, Brighton and Edinburgh etc etc still taking on drivers and complaining when they can't get them and their cars aren't on the ranks.

Rank space doesn't seem to be a problem then.

Ffs you know exactly what I'm getting at so stop acting the ignorant idiot. The average hours worked here is 70+ per week, I don't think that's acceptable but clearly you wouldn't give a sh*t so long as everybody has to do the same

I think your actually a PH baron....although you did mention you bought a plate for £12K or something like that including a cab........but when you shout about regulation you always cite people paying £30K plus.

You want deregulation because you know what it leads to, drivers being forced by debt to work PH circuits.

Oh dear, resorting to personal abuse now Toots? [-X

I could reciprocate, but let's not pull the standard of debate on here down any further than it is already.

One minute you think drivers working 84 hours a week ("more or less"!!) in restricted areas is a good thing, next 70 hours in a derestricted area is a bad thing.

You couldn't make it up :D

Anyway, think I'll go and watch the opening ceremony - anything's got to be less depressing than this. :D

I never said that drivers working 80 hours per week was a good thing, nor am I any longer in a derestricted area, nor am I a taxi baron. It wasn't personal abuse either it was an observation of how you appear to be coming across when clearly you are no such thing. Having 80 deckchairs is clearly a waste of money if only 40 bottoms go in them to make a profit. The point is restricted or derestricted drivers should not be working excessive hours, this however appears more prevalent in derestricted areas
