To be fair I liked most of it and I think it was quite representative of the Uk with it's industry, music, films, science, NHS add the bling and lights, happy days. I don't even want to think how much it's cost the tax payer but if they're going to do it I'm glad they did it like they did and not all glitz and glam like some have been

I wonder how long that £27 million would have kept the Great North Air Ambulance going for?

Only saying because it, because if it wasnt in Carlisle in May last year, I'd be dead, and is only able to fly through public subscription.

Our crews respond to hundreds of call-outs a month and to satisfy this demand it takes about £4m a year in fundraising. To further emphasise the necessity of your support, the service does not receive any Government or National Lottery funding and therefore relies on the support of the public to continue its work.
